Counter Space: Design and the Modern Kitchen

MoMa Counter Space

Counter Space: Design and the Modern Kitchen at MoMa, is a must see this month. Part eye candy, part thought provoking, the exhibtion displays 300 different works, including objects, posters, furniture and prints that all pay tribute to the concept of the kitchen as we know it.

Central to the exhibit’s theme, is the cultural and physical transformation the kitchen experienced through time, particularly, through the 20th century.

As the space shifts to become pivotal to consumerist culture and a clear-cut representation of the push and pull of gender roles, we experience the physical and cultural manifestations that take hold of time and space.
