I’ve always scrutinized the polka dot. It’s hard to miss. Synonymous with the retro or the circus-like, I had always deemed the pattern either strictly feminine or clownish. Yet depending on diameter, the polka could be more of a pin dot, asserting itself in the sartorial lexicon of patterns.
Regardless of size, the dot is relentlessly manifesting this spring, appearing on women and men. This prevalent unisexuality has rendered the pattern on garments and accessories of all sorts. For the lionhearted, the dot can look especially cool on a rumpled navy shirt. On the other-more-subtle-hand, consider the pattern in a pocket square, socks, or even a bow tie.
