She appeared on the Q train and I assumed she was bound for Manhattan’s trendy SoHo neighborhood. I could not lower my gaze. A beautiful bottle blonde. She wasn’t pretending like she wasn’t trying too hard, she was. This made her different from the city’s many, I-sort-of-just-threw-this-own-street-style claimants. Her voluminous cream mint pants billowed, as the train rumbled through the underground. One would think that perhaps it was all a bit too much. Her 90’s-inpsired sweater, along with a chain that spelled out H-O-N-E-Y, a hippie’s head band, and steel capped heels…But it all fit together so nicely, delighting almost everyone who looked her way.
